"During my masters year I lived alone and would go weeks without saying more than a few words to anyone! I still saw my boyfriend, family and some friends once a month or so, so I managed to keep up quite an active and exciting social media presence.

When I told my friends at the end of the year about how I had never felt so alone and depressed they all said that they honestly couldn't tell because of my social media and would have reached out to me if I'd have not put across such a happy image on instagram!

It's made me think twice about posting smiles when I’m feeling down! I told my mum and she has never forgiven me for not telling her how lonely I was!"
